NorthWest Cycling Club finished a highly respectable 2nd place in the Northern Region Interclub race league. The cycling event featuring 6 clubs from across Derry and North Antrim was hotly contested from the opening race back in April with Coleraine club Bann Wheelers and NWCC battling it out at the top of the league. The league came down to the final race of the season, a team time trial, where Bann’s strength eventually shone through but the Northwest squad can be proud of such a high finish in their first ever foray into league racing.
The club enter the closing stages of the race season on a high with the upcoming Stafford Wexford 2 day and the Ulster Championships which are being hosted in Eglinton by local neighbours Foyle CC on the 28th September. The club will also be supporting various leisure sportive cycles in the Autumn and are preparing for their own Sportive on 2nd October. Anyone interested in leisure or competitive cycling can contact the club via their website for more information.
